Synta Expands Trial Of New Drug

Synta Pharmaceuticals Corp. (NASDAQ: SNTA) was up $0.41 (12.93%) to $3.58 on news that the company is expanding its Phase 2 clinical trial of STA-9090 for patients with non-small cell lung cancer from 69 to 146 patients.  The expansion is the result of positive results observed during the first stage of the two stage clinical trial.

Synta is a biopharma company creates and sells drugs used for patients with diseases such as cancer and chronic inflammatory diseases.
